A Shadowrun supplement adding extra options for fleshing out what player characters spend their hard-earned ¥ on when they’re not out and about doing the megacorps’ dirty work: Players can choose to dish out for fancy living quarters and state-of-the-art entertainment, or perhaps more shrewdly invest in secret escape routes or regular medication to handle that pesky allergy. Maybe you’re a troll, and you’d like a bed that’s actually big enough for you? For those who aren’t raking in the big paydays, there are budget options and all sorts of awful side-effects of being poor for that extra taste of dystopian fantasy sci-fi, like living in the wilds outside of town or sharing your tiny apartment with rat-sized bugs or even a poltergeist. Yeah, chummer, you read that right.

I always have a great time translating Shadowrun material. It’s rare that you’re allowed to layer texts with caustic sarcasm and the snarky bravado of B-tier action flicks. Familiarity with the source material and the setting are essential, but you also get to translate quite freely most of the time. This one had a lot of mechanical game information, so I needed to get terminology and expressions for the game mechanics right.
